BASE (Building Accessible Self regulation for Education)

BASE (Building Accessible Self regulation for Education)

It is not always easy to put feelings into words. Sometimes you can start with a movement. Or a line.

We are now launching BASE (Building Accessible Self regulation for Education) – an international project that brings together creativity, body-based methods and digital technology to help young people better understand their emotions and manage stress.

Together with young people, we will develop and test a simple digital tool with short self-regulation exercises. We will also train educators in methods that can be used during an ordinary school day, without the young people having to share personal experiences.

The young people are co-creators: the students will contribute to the development, test the tool and help make it clear and easy to use.

BASE brings together ConnectArt (Sweden), Ukrainian House in Latvia and Volia Educational Centre (Riga), with support from Erasmus+.

Our goal is to create an accessible digital tool and practical resources that other schools and youth organisations can keep using after the project has ended.

Next come development, first tests and new insights from the participants. We will share how the work is progressing.

First up: the first line. BASE is under way.

We held our kick-off meeting on 28 September. We are grateful for the support from Erasmus+ and really look forward to getting started!
